There you are at your computer, typing at your blog when you think, “Hmm…I’ve blogged about this before, haven’t I?” Sure you have, but when? 2005? 2006?
So you go through every blog entry in 2005 and then every entry in 2006. If you are unlucky you may just miss it. “Arrgh! Where is that blog entry?” you think ten minutes later. This all could have been avoided had you tagged your blog entries.
Categories and tags allow you to properly organize your blog postings to better locate it in the future. As an added bonus, the people who are reading your blog may not want to read EVERY blog posting you write. Maybe they’re only interested in the adventures of your cat.
By categorizing and tagging your posts, people can easily cycle through only the information they want.
